Camping Checklist
Packing the right gear can make the difference between a great experience and a terrible one. For instance, rain and hail don’t have to ruin your overnight camping adventure. A great canvas tent can help protect you while you revel in the sights and sounds of Colorado’s backcountry, no matter the weather. You also need to pack waterproof gear with plenty of underlayers. The temperatures may climb during the day, especially as you sweat, but at night you need to change into warm and clean layers for sleeping. Pack enough food and water (and firestarters) for the length of your trip and you’re good to go.
Teepee Tent Characteristics
A wonderful type of tent is the teepee. You probably recognize the conical structure from your studies of the Plains peoples. These structures utilize wood to form a triangular support. The shape is great for wet weather since the water just drips off, keeping the interior warm and dry. Plus, modern teepee tents are quite lightweight and easy to travel with.
